Biography

Neev Spencer is one of the biggest British female DJs in the UK, with her award winning shows on KISS FM UK (reaching 1.8m each week) and digital spin-off station KISSTORY (reaching 507k each week).  Her Mid-morning show in recent radio results is once again market leader in London.

This exciting talent has taken London’s airwaves by storm with her engaging style ever since taking over the lunchtime show on Kiss FM 9 years ago. Now with nearly 2 million listeners each week she is officially the most listened to British Asian and female presenter in the UK.

Now in her 10th year at the station, Neev is well known for her down to earth attitude and larger than life personality. From interviewing the likes of David Guetta, Pink, Rihanna, 1D and even David Cameron, Neev is at the cutting edge of the music scene.

What sets Neev apart from the other female voices on radio is not only her innate ability to communicate but her deep understanding of the audience. Her passion and knowledge of all music genres combined with her vast experience in radio and as a DJ give her a credibility not often found in commercial radio from House to Hip Hop, R n B to DnB, Rock N Roll to Ol’School Garage – you name it, she’s all over it.

She is frequently booked to DJ for the biggest international and UK brands such as Nike, River Island, London Fashion Week, Red Bull, Grazia Magazine, Nokia, Very Clothing and Cosmopolitan Magazine. As well as being one of Kiss fm’s most bookable daytime club DJs touring across the country at all the major venues and events and supported David Guetta on his tours in both India and Spain last year.

In 2014 Neev began writing and performing on several UK talking heads TV shows and found she had a natural ability for comedy. This led her to challenge her self further as a visual presenter and began a journey into the world of stand up comedy. She regularly gigs on the London stand up circuit building and perfecting her set.

Neev’s main passion still lies in the charity work she conducts and is a proud ambassador of four UK Charites including two for HRH the Princes Trust and the British Asian Trust.

Neev’s talents were recognised by her peers and her fans first in 2009 she was honored at the Asian Women of Achievement Awards in London as Young Achiever of the Year. In 2012 she was named DJ of the Year at the Asian Music Awards (AMAs) and the accolades keep on coming and this autumn Neev won Best radio show at The Urban Music Awards.

Neev’s love of performing started early, with this Berkshire native winning a drama scholarship to St. Georges School, Ascot before studying Theatre, Media, Photography and Film at Henley College. She made her radio debut at just 18 on local station Reading 107 Fm before producing and presenting shows on the world famous Sunrise Radio, Star 106.6FM, the BBC Asian Network, Westside FM and BBA 87.9FM, taking any opportunities that came her way.

It wasn’t long before Kiss FM took notice of Neev’s distinctive style and after producing the Sony Radio Award nominated Rishi Rich Project show for the London station, she took over the lunchtime slot, growing its listeners and reach every year this led to a promotion in 2014 where she was offered the coveted Mid Morning and Kisstory show slot where she has been breaking records in listening figures ever since.

But while Neev is driven and ambitious for her own success her other passion is for getting stuck in and helping others wherever she can. Her charitable roles include being an ambassador forthe Women of the Future organisation, Epilepsy Research UK, The British Asian Trust and the HIV/AIDS youth awareness charity Dance4life as well as being heavily involved with The Spirit of London Awards who she has represented during visits to Downing Street.

Despite her heavy schedule Neev Spencer volunteers her time as host for events like The London Week of Peace Dinner and to causes as wide ranging as Wings of Hope, International Women’s Week. It is perhaps the diagnosis of her younger brother’s severe learning difficulties and epilepsy that spurred Neev on – not only to achieve her own goals but to devote so much of herself to improving the world around her.

To this day she is a woman on a mission and whether she’s playing another club banger to a heaving dance floor, joking around on her radio show or giving a speech in front of David Cameron, she gives it her all in her own signature style.

Neev has been one to watch for a while – just wait and see what’s next for this rising star!
